Review - Games We Play (One Night series) by Dana Isaly

I'm a bit behind with my reviews, as I've been putting the final touches to No Limits before proofreading and publication, so these are a bit shorter than usual. (Probably not a bad thing!)

Games We Play was a relatively quick read, but I was impressed by the character development and the hotness of the chemistry between Jack and Quinlan. Although the deal they agree on is one night for Quinlan to explore her deepest, darkest fantasy, both of them realise they have unleashed something far more long-lasting. Quinlan had hidden depths (no, not like that...) and Jack was a sexy, convincing Dominant. I loved the dynamic between them, Quinlan's determination that Jack wasn't going to have everything his way. It seemed to me this was a healthy representation of Dom/sub dynamics, in that Jack was considerate of Quinlan's needs at all times, even when she was happy to push things a bit.

This was a sexy, edgy book, with some wonderful side characters in Jack's friends. I want friends like these. They have all confirmed my suspicions that those scary, bearded, tattooed guys are just great big teddy-bears underneath their tough exterior.

A well-written, fast-paced story, tempting me to read more from this author.
